Solfest set to go ahead in 2023, with dates announced

A POPULAR music festival will return next year, with organisers announcing dates for 2023.

Solfest, which is based in Silloth, will return next year after what has been a successful year in 2022.

The popular West Cumbrian family festival will return over next year’s August Bank Holiday weekend, from August 24 until August 28.

Solfest is described by organisers as a ‘magical place on magical land, safe enough to take your children, dirty enough to get your rave on’.

Organisers have said that attendees of the 2022 festival described it as Glastonbury in the late 1980s, where people from all walks of life come and relax in Cumbria, and dance the night away.

This year, headliners Pendulum said they were were amazed how many young kids were raving away at the Main stage.

Speaking shortly after the festival this year, organisers said: “Thank you.

“From the bottom of our hearts, to every single person who attended Solfest, our small army of volunteers and crew put our heart and soul into bringing you the best four days the whole family could enjoy, whether you were aged 7 or 70, there was so many magical moments that we can’t put into words how truly special you made it.”

It is understood that further details and a line-up of next year’s artists will be released over the coming months.
