Dance, plays, art, music and more at the 31st Vasant Valley School Drama Festival

The Vasant Valley School Drama Festival, a much-awaited annual event, was organised on August 24, 25 and 26 this year. The festival, which is in its 31st year, was hosted in-house at the school for the first time ever. There was an overwhelming response from a large number of schools across Delhi-NCR, just like last year. Moreover, a preparatory workshop was also held for the children and teachers of the schools that participated to familiarise them with the modalities of the online festival.

Since its inception in 1992, the Vasant Valley School Drama Festival, a non-competitive event, has become a perfect platform for children of the fifth standard to showcase their talent in drama, dance and music. The theme this year was, ‘Nobody Knows’, and it was chosen by the students themselves. The theme had several varied interpretations and the children allowed their imagination to take flight and showcased it beautifully through their plays. The plays by every school had a thoughtful message and the effort put in by the children was appreciated by the audience.

One of the most unique features of this festival is the opportunity it gives young minds to script and enact their own plays around a chosen theme. The Vasant Valley School Drama Festival focuses on encouraging children to enjoy the process of putting up a play and performing in front of their peers. The very idea of collaborating and practising with each other was an experience like no other.

The festival was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
