Tribal Cuisines, Clothes And Music Grab Eyeballs | Ranchi News

Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren and his Parliamentarian father Shibu on Tuesday purchased jars of pickles, Tricolor and tried their hands at playing Mandar, a traditional musical instrument used by the tribal communities, at the Jharkhand Jan Jatiya Mahotsava on Tuesday.
Hemant even tapped his feet to the folk music presented by Megha Shriram Dalton.
Braving the rains, students and common people from various parts of Jharkhand thronged the ground. As many as 30 stalls, showcasing tribal cuisines, processed food, attire, were set up. Dressed in traditional attires, the womenfolk of the self-help groups of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society put up tribal cuisines.
Padmashree awardee Mukund Nayak said: “It is a great honour for us to be performing here on the occasion of Jharkhand Jan Jatiya Mahotsava. It is a great platform to showcase the rich tribal culture and heritage of Jharkhand.”
