Sunset Home Visual Entertainment announces the release of the brand new Full Moon Features film, Evil Bong 2: King Bong film on DVD and as Video Downloads beginning this July 7th!

The popular Full Moon Features film, Evil Bong 2: King Bong to be released worldwide on July 7th in 3D, if you’re stoned, with Sunset Home Visual on DVD and as a Video Download.

The Full Moon Features Film Company announces the official release of the popular film, KING BONG: EVIL BONG 2 on July 7th. The DVD will be available starting early next week at every major retail outlet and the DVD will be available that week at Blockbuster for rent and/or for purchase. The movie will be available as On-Demand through the Warner Digital cable company all over North America. Full Moon Features fans can watch the movie as a Pay Per View with Comcast and At&t U-Verse.

Sunset’s Home Video division will make the film available at Amazon’s Video On-Demand as well as having it placed at top retail outlets. “The film being touted as being in 3D, if you are stoned says it all about this release,” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset. King Bong 2 will also be made available through the Sunset web site (www.SunsetHomeVisual.com), the Full Moon site, (www.FullMoonDirect.com) and the film will also be available as a video stream at Apple’s iTunes.

Charles Band is also very well known as a film producer, music producer, music artist and film score artist. The world premier of King Bong: Evil Bong 2 took place earlier this year on April 20 (4/20) Hollywood, CA.

King Bong 2 brings back Larnell (John Jordan), Luanne (Robin Sydney) and those “crazy dudes” from the EVIL BONG movie are back as characters in the next installment of the Evil Bong movies. The first Evil Bong features legend, Tommy Chong as one of the other main actors in the popular cult horror film. King Bong 2 presents Amy Paffrath, who plays Velicity in the film is also now the anchor for E! News on TV.

The release day for the DVD, Video Download, Pay Per View On-Demand Video of Evil Bong 2: King Bong is set for Tuesday, July 7th.

Sunset Records hard rockers DOWN FROM ZERO joins forces with the Middle Georgia Bikers Association to play at one of the largest bike events in Georgia! The major bike rally and live concert event is to benefit the Kings Cleft Charity Organization. The Kings Cleft Charity is a nonprofit organization geared to working with Christian families helping the “profoundly disabled.”

Down From Zero rocks and rolls throughout their debut CD being released on July 21 at Sunset Records.

Sunset Records gets ready to release the debut Down From Zero, Chaos Theory CD to stores worldwide on July 21st.

It's 2009 this year, and the three piece Georgia heavy metal rock band, Down From Zero is set to release their debut CD of recorded music with Sunset. Chaos Theory has Rush, Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses and Ozzy/Black Sabbath influences throughout the twelve (12) song CD. Down From Zero is one of the hottest new metal and hard bands that have entered the music scene in a long time. Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset records refers to the members of the band as “some of the sickest players I have heard in rock music and the fact they were not signed this year was great for us at Sunset.” Their playing is so tight throughout every song and it’s obvious this band is not for the faint of heart.”

'Chaos Theory'  is an incredible rock album with some of the best rock guitar work by any band and even though you hear influences of Rush and Ozzy, the songs on the album are very current as far as accessibility to young hard rock music fans. “These guys are some the best musicians I have heard in my life,” says Lichterman (Don) about his latest signing at his Sunset records label. The lyrics on the songs from Chaos Theory CD are in your face, and the music has amazing energy in every song. Every song has strong drumming and the guitar playing is at the highest level. The bass thumps and flows to an enjoyable groove on literally every song on the twelve (12) song CD.

Not only do we hear Rush and Black Sabbath music influences on these songs, there is even a more rooted vibe in that way Led Zeppelin influences their fans and/or the way Guns N Roses produced their material. Witch Hazel' is another rocker that will turns heads fast for these guys that hail from Georgia. And, then more of the same comes at you with songs like, 'Hail To The King' and ‘Livin The High Life’ show that Led Zeppelin and Rush guitar sound and 'Rust' is yet another hard rocker with a serious groove base that is also led with great melody.

The closing 'American Heroes' is another fine rocker that is the perfect end to the entire Down From Zero debut CD. This album will no doubt poise Down From Zero and the record label to release some great music by this band. And, for many future years if this is a sign of things to come from this group. The lyrics are accessible; the vocals are unique and band members, Jonathon Finley, Jason Finley, and Brian Owens make up what is sure to be one of the top metal bands. There is no mistaking the playing ability of the band; there are guitar solos on virtually every song on the debut CD. Every song swinging grooves that are alluring amidst the intense playing and overall, Down From Zero can be described as one of the best new rock acts. With Sekshun 8’s Black Wing Butterfly CD, Virginia Beach’s best are back with a blazing return to their hard rock edge that gave them their critical acclaim on their debut album. Sekshun 8 is very much a recognizable rock band with solid vocals driving over the heavy guitar work and clannish drum sound that propel the songs on the Black Wing Butterfly CD.

“Black Winged Butterfly,” the first single being released off their new Sekshun 8 Black Wing Butterfly is already bring featured on the CMJ CD Sampler being sent to radio and to its subscribers this month. This sophomore studio album from the hardworking rock band is the first CD being released at Sunset Records. The first full-length album by the band since the Toymaker debut CD, the Black Wing Butterfly is a powerfully built with songs that do nothing less than show the bands power and vision to hit right at mainstream rock n roll fans.

Black Wing Butterfly was produced by Stevie “Vann” Lange (former wife to Mutt Lange). The CD was recorded and engineered at Clay Garden Studios in Norfolk, VA with Brad Rosenberg. All songs on the new CD are written in collaboration by the entire band and the post production was done in London at APB Audio. And, rounding off the production was Alan Bradsaw doing the nixing at APB, the mastering was done at Metropolis Studios in the UK.

The result is an honest, in your face production with opulently textured songs throughout the entire CD. The vigor of the writing and the depth of the production is what Sekshun 8 is all about and is what is getting the band initial airplay on rock radio, industry notoriety with placement on the CMJ CD Sampler this month and key bookings that include playing two (2) live shows at the Six Flags Theme Park in New Jersey on July 11.

Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records says that he believes “the production, songwriting and live shows are what define the band. I am not doing a thing with the production because it’s perfect. Without the label involvement in the production, it’s up to me to this out in a big way. Stevie “Vann” Lange and the band produced and mastered one of the top rock albums of the year. And, the entire band (James Sadler, Jimmy Muhlenbruch, Eric Briggs, Jeff and Jason Tippins) have the lyrics and drive in their music to do some really great things for the label (Sunset Records). Songs like the emphasis tracks being worked to radio, “Black Wing Butterfly,” “Still Smokin” and “Three Blocks” expertly sum up the bands attitude and development as songwriters from the independent debut CD released by the band. The band’s sophomore CD and the first with Lichterman's (Don) Sunset Records, Black Wing Butterfly has themes of isolation, hope, optimism and mysticism amidst the solidity of the bands playing and within the music. Sekshun 8 appears to be tenacious with some of the strongest vocals while offering occasional glimpses into the psyche of how the band works their music. Black Wing Butterfly explores many topics. “The CD is as real as it gets,” says Lichterman, and “that is what rock music is all about.”

The performances on the Black Wing Butterfly CD are strong with leading vocals by front man star, Jason Tippins, impressive rhythm section lead guitarist James Sadler, bassist Eric Briggs, the on fire lead guitar work of Jimmy Muhlenbruch. Both Muhlenbruch and Sadler give off heavy riffs and infectious sounds while Jeff Tippins plays his drum kit with power, convict ion and as evidenced is his awesome control throughout the entire CD. Additional backing vocals were sung by producer, Stevie Lange along with Buggst Pearce. And additional guitar work was done Simon Cookson and additional drum work was done by Doobie Brothers drumming legend, Chet McCracken.

There are many highlights on the new Sekshun 8 CD entitled, Black Wing Butterfly. This is an unforgettable and a complete growing experience for Sekshun 8. Lichterman says that the label is not “reinventing the wheel” so to speak, “it will not take much for radio station PD’s, music directors and disc jockey’s to hear that with the initial single, “Black Winged Butterfly” Sekshun 8 has a great song for major radio.” Man Of Sorrow also features the backing vocals of Tara, (a friend of the band), the 10 rock songs that make up the CD is a must for every hard rock fan.

Sunset Records signs multi record deal with the Georgia rock band, Down From Zero.

Down From Zero, the greatly buzzed Georgian based heavy metal hard rock group featuring vocalist and guitarist Jason Scott, bassist Jonathon Paul and drummer Brian Doggins, has signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal with Sunset Records. The exceptional trio will release its highly anticipated debut album on July 21.

Sunset Home Visual Entertainment (SHE), one of the top independent home video company’s in the world today and Full Moon Features, a Hollywood based leader in horror film production, have entered into a licensing and distribution agreement allowing SHE to distribute almost 200 popular cult horror film titles on DVD. Sunset is releasing every one of the Full Moon Film titles on DVD in the 2^nd Quarter this year. The upstart home video company at Sunset can now boast to having nearly 200 DVD titles and the Full Moon Titles are all being showcased and focused on at the Sunset Home Visual web site.

In addition to the overall catalog and DVD content, the newly formed strategic partnership will give Sunset Records and Sunset Strategic Marketing (SSM) an opportunity to work the new Full Moon Archives 2 CD Set featuring music from the cult hit films like the Puppet Master DVDs, Trancers, Evil Bong, Dr. Moreau’s House Of Pain and have manufactured a very nicely packaged CD set of the music performed by film score artists like David Arkenstone, Charles Band (Full Moon Horror Road Show 2008 Tour!), Richard Band and even a track by the rock icons Blue Oyster Cult

Spatial Unity is setting up the Knock Me Off My Feet for its official release worldwide through the Sunset Connect record label on May 12!

The Scottish power-pop quartet Spatial Unity is surely one of the current pop music scene's most up and coming innovative artists, with its new recording deal at Sunset Connect, the Knock Me Off Your Feet CD is seeing its first breakout hit song and a critically acclaimed full length CD which is now being released worldwide.

The Knock Me Off My Feet CD is a great expression of its robust-psyche, upbeat-pop, warm-hearted, multi-faceted pop rock band, Spatial Unity. The CD integrates the melodic talents of the popular band, and features gifted musicians; Andy Murray (Wolfstone), Kevin Wiles, Andy Pearce, and Sorren Maclean has combined the fervent guitar quality with the poppy set of vocals that easily accessible to pop music fans all over the world.

The Founder of Sunset Records Opens One of the World’s Most Extensive Animal Friendly and Vegan Related Web Sites

Veg Hed opens its online store providing products never used with animals and strategic partners with activists that are against all forms of animal cruelty.

A New Jersey based organization with shared office space at Sunset in New York City, Veg Hed is now the best resource for “vegan” product and related care products from top brands, and is also set up as a very precise way to find out about pivotal animal activist companies. The company also extended its range of releasing music and video by releasing organic and eco friendly related DVD titles.

Known for its quality of music and innovative record label structure, Sunset is finding ways to use its resources for various forms of activism and awareness. Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset is also the founder of the Sustainable Action Network and the Green Junkee online retail store. Sunset Continues To Develop Music Through Its Digital Record Label

Sunset has just launched a digital record label this month, finding, signing and developing music artists with the overall objective of breaking them through its distribution system, licensing network, radio promotion, press and media departments along with its live download company and radio network.

Sunset Connect is the now the backbone for the Sunset Records digital division and moreover, this is one of their best ways for the label to find new music. The label will function as a newly created division at the Sunset record label based in New York City. The label started this month by releasing full length albums by D’Cyple, Obka, Ric Laue, Kan’Nal, Starr Cullars, Cryout, a Cracker / David Lowery type of songwriter from England named Clayton Road; and many compilations that feature popular music artists (The Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, Sneaker Pimps, Gavin Friday, Eve Gallagher, Boy George, Leftfield, Death In Vegas and more), and will now begin to sign more music every month during this first year.

Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records, will run the digital only label during the key launch stages in the first few months, finding new talent and implementing the A&R and lead time administration. The Sunset Connect digital label is set up to develop bands working everything to major radio, press, retail and for licensing opportunities in film, TV and commercials in an automated way. Lichterman’s Sunset Live download company will be run through the Sunset Connect distribution system although it will be a standalone company run by its own staff. The live concert download company has just released a very special live concert by the world famous comedian, Roz (Last Comic Standing, Laff House Live).

Lichterman said about the digital label that it is a convergence of many factors with regard to the landscape of distribution and working music today-- including promotional mailings and mailings for music-licensing opportunities, and today, every aspect of a record label can be distributed to radio, retail, press and licensing companies all digitally -- made it the perfect climate to start Sunset Connect. The label will provide the ability to purchase physical CDs for placement at Amazon, Target and its own CD / DVD Store, through its On-Demand system powered by Amazon’s Create Space.

"We have every aspect of what a record label does for its music artists at Sunset Connect, and working music this way is cost effective for artists that it will no doubt be the standard model for record labels," Lichterman said in a press release with Billboard Media Wire. "We are poising Sunset for that time by starting the label today and at the same time, this label pays its artist 70/30 splits on net sales, which will keep everyone recouped making money every pay period.” Sunset Connect will look to hire a label head and other staff members for A&R acquisitions with the label feeding off the Sunset Records divisions for its promotion, licensing, marketing and administration.

While Sunset Records has made great progress in the last year with its new music – the Federal Moguls (QBall from Bloodhound Gang and Troy Walsh (MTV.com) new project and platinum recording artist Gina Thompson’s new project as run through the main label (Sunset Records and Sunset Urban accordingly) -- the Sunset Connect record label will be committed to developing new talent and up-and-coming music artists. Each of the artists on the label has already released indie albums and Sunset Connect distributes the entire catalogs of these artists. "We have great lee way now to develop new music without getting them thousands of dollars in the unrecouped column, and we can take on so many more projects today," Lichterman said.

Sunset Connects business plan has taken the same shape as the rest of the Sunset labels. There is a perfect mix of brand new talent in with established artist signings that are legends in the industry. Of the new bands,  Kan’Nal’s “Gypsy” was the number one song played on the Radio Italia Network last year for a few weeks and D’Cyple’s two songs “My Life” and “Don’t Wanna Be” have broken the top 50 on the Indy Record Pool charts last year and is still being featured in clubs charting every month. Clayton Road also now has two songs in Pure Play’s Music Network and every artist is featured at Pandora. Sunset Connect has digital deals with every top online retailer including iTunes, Real/Rhapsody, eMusic, Amazon MP3, Napster, Shockhound and over 40 outlets. The digital only label does make physical product via Amazon’s On-Demand system making CDs available at Amazon, target and the Sunset Store, however, it will not carry any stock inventory.

Top industry people at major labels and at Indy labels admit there is no set formula for a digital only record label. Lichterman says that he has “found the perfect way to make everyone money and work this music at Sunset Connect as close to what you would do for an artist that has a traditional record deal.” He also was quick to say that the idea of doing this now is almost “overdue, but for us at Sunset, this the perfect time for this type of label considering our label wide rosters at this time. Our traditional label is working like a machine and our artists and staff producer (Rod Millwood) were named on the Grammy Nomination Ballot 68 times leading up to December 5th. We now have the formula to make sure this label works like a cost effective machine and ironically speaking, I could see this label being the one that is the main label as the industry phases out physical DVDs and CDs."
