Record Company based in New York and
New Jersey is seeking an part time person to
spearhead the Music Licensing division for Sunset.
The company is very slow to hire permanent staff
therefore the person hired for this job will be paid
for working only a few hours every week. The goal is
to create and hire this particular staff person as a
full time employee at Sunset. However, this will
happen after a full evaluation period of no less
than THREE (3) months.
For now, we outsource this work to companies outside
of Sunset. We want to now hire a person to work with
the head of the company to implement, organize and
expand on the licensing effort that we have in
place.
The weekly duties will include, but are not limited
to:-
Worldwide Music Licensing Effort for all genres of
music;
Duties will include, but not limited to:-
Licensing master catalog worldwide for all usages;
• Pitching film, TV, advertising agencies, computer
games makers for synchronization uses
• Pitching other record labels for traditional
compilation licensing.
• Creating and pitching brands and non-traditional
partners for premium, custom products and one-off
projects.
• Maintain a database of contacts and expand on that
contact list.
• Manage licensing teams and catalog deals around
the world.
• Review, evaluate and determine a sense of
direction of what companies outside of Sunset to
continue to use for licensing effort.
• Provide weekly report of pitch and secured
licenses.
Experience with music licensing is not necessary,
though we will treat this job like a full time
position.
Passion about and knowledge of all genres of music
is a plus!!

stations;
• Understand and get to know the current radio
promotion system.
• Review stats and current placement of where songs
are played on what radio station.
• Make calls to follow up and get radio play for our
current material being worked to radio.
• Maintain database of contacts in every genre for
mailings and follow ups for radio play.
• Follow Up, solicit and upkeep contacts and radio
play at all stations in any genre.
• Input on potential “single” and songs to work to
radio for all future releases at Sunset.
• Gain more radio activity and evaluate current
deals in place with outside companies.
• Provide daily report of pitch and added radio play
for all of songs being worked to radio.
Experience with radio promotion is not necessary,
though we will treat this job like a full time
position.
